NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer. You may request this but it is not always guaranteed. However, for GP appointments, for continuity of care, your appointment would be booked with your Usual GP under normal circumstances.
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by online services
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

Please follow the usual protocol for appointment booking with the GP. This will be initially a telephone consultation where the GP will triage your symptoms and act accordingly.

Though it may be appropriate to see patients in their own home, it is almost always better for you to be seen at the surgery, and the duty doctor may decide that this is the best course of action. The Receptionist will ask you to give a brief description of your symptoms so that this can be given to the doctor who will determine the urgency of your need.

If a visit is required, the Doctor may opt to use the Acute Visiting Service to make the home visit. The request will be triaged again and an appropriately trained practitioner will attend.

One Appointment, One Problem

Appointments are only 10 minutes long, and in order to investigate your problem fully, we ask that you prioritise your medical conditions and present your most important symptoms.

Every effort is made to see patients with urgent problems on the same day, and spaces are reserved each day for this purpose.

Appointments are always bookable up to 6 weeks in advance. Appointments are released at 8:00am and 12 noon daily for patients who urgently need to be seen by a GP on the same day. If we have reached our safe capacity and your issue is medically urgent, please describe the reasons for the urgency to the Receptionist who may speak to the Duty Doctor for medical opinion or advise an alternative service.

If you cannot keep an appointment, please contact the surgery as soon as possible in order that we may offer the appointment to another patient.
